The continent of Europe consists of 50 countries including United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, and Spain. Europe is known as the birthplace of Western civilization, which traces its lineage back to ancient Greece and ancient Rome. Athens, the capital of Greece is often regarded as the birthplace of democracy. Europe is also famous for its beautiful landscape and building architecture.

The largest religion in Europe is Christianity, including Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and various Protestant denominations. Europe is also home to a vast population following Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, and Jain religions. These religions in Europe are represented by communities and individuals segmented according to ethnic, linguistic, and cultural borders. It is visible through temples and shrines, newly established guru movements, and the widespread practice of yoga.

Some of the prominent temples in Europe are the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in London, the Ganesh Temple in Paris, France, The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Madrid, Spain, and the Sri Kamachi Ampal Temple in Hamm, Germany.

The Buddhist Temple, also recognized as the Illumination Stupa, is the largest Buddhist temple in Spain. Other famous spots like the Kagyu-Dzong, the Plum Village Monastery in France, and the Dordogne in Southern France. The Das Buddhistische Haus, Frohnau in Berlin, Germany, is considered the oldest and largest Theravada Buddhist center in Europe.

Leicester in United Kingdon possesses one of the world’s few Jain temples. Jainism’s growth in the United Kingdoms led to establishing a temple at Kenton, with different breath-taking shrines.

The rapid spread of Sikhism in Europe led to various gurdwaras in almost every part of the continent. Some prominent ones are the Gurdwara Sri Dashmesh Singh Sabha and the Gurdwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadar Sahib, Cologne (Koln), Germany. The prestigious Gurudwaras in Italy are the Gurdwara Singh Sabha and the Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Sewa Society in Lazio, Italy.
